Blackhawk resident has biggest iTunes hit ever, hit Sharks shirt

In September, we ran an interview with Journey bass player Ross Valory, an East Bay native who grew up in Lafayette and now resides in Blackhawk. I just saw an article online that Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" is the first song to get two million downloads on iTunes, making it the biggest hit single of the digital era. Meanwhile, the Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick tour was the best selling concert ticket to come through the Bay Area this year, selling out concerts in Sacramento, Concord, and Mountain View. To top it off, Valory recently designed the "Mouth Man" hoodie, which is selling like crazy at San Jose Sharks games. Pretty cool trifecta for an East Bay guy!

Now I know how "Green Day" bass player is gone to look when he gets old
It's hard to fathom that Steve Perry will be 60 on his birthday. What if his voice showed his age...would be be ever so critical of his inability to hit notes he could hit 20 years ago, or would we graciously accept that the Journey songs we all love would never sound as good as we would hope if he were still the frontman. Arnel is 20 years younger and can sing AS GOOD as SP...period! not a question of who is "better" but what is best for the band at the moment. at this time in their career Arnel is a blessing that has rejuvenated the band's ability to record, tour, and continue to please fans everywhere with their great music instead of having to wait for Perry to figure out what he wants to do. That being said, what better time for Steve Perry to step up to the plate and release a new album with a new project!
he could easily return to touring and recording..if that's what he truly wants to do. If not, give the other guys some slack and stop complaining about why he is no longer in the band.
