A's broadcaster Robert Buan wins award for Country Fastball radio program
Alameda resident Robert Buan knocked one out of the park this week by scoring a "Best Radio Program" awards at the Electronic Media Awards in Las Vegas. Buan, who hosts the Oakland A's "Extra Innings" postgame show, won for his weekly "Country Fastball" program. An avid country music fan, Buan interviews Major League ballplayers about their favorite country acts and songs—the two hour show is syndicated to stations in seven states. Nice one, Robert! Winner at 21st Annual Electronic Media Awards
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – GT2 Entertainment’s Country Fastball presented by Bank of America won this year’s award for “Best Radio Program” at the 21st Annual Electronic Media Awards.
The awards ceremony took place Saturday night October 18th at Paris Las Vegas. Robert Buan, President and CEO of GT2 Entertainment, and John Wong, Vice President of Marketing and
Development, were on hand to receive the award. The Annual Electronic Media Awards is hosted by Las Vegas WIC, a non-profit, professional organization. A premier Las Vegas industry event, WIC
hosts the Annual Electronic Media Awards each year to raise scholarship funds, provide its members with opportunities for community involvement, and recognize the best in radio, television, advertising and internet.
“We’re obviously very honored,” said Buan. “Being part of Country Fastball has been a lot of fun so far. This award just validates our excitement about what lies ahead.”
Buan is also the host of Country Fastball presented by Bank of America, a two-hour program which airs once a week and year-round. On the air since March of 2007, the innovative new radio show
features Country Music hits and interviews with some of Major League Baseball’s most popular personalities.
